The laboratory maintains proficiency with the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for the analysis of asbestos in bulk materials using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) and with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Industrial Hygiene Proficiency Analytical Testing (IHPAT) Program for the analysis of Asbestos and other fibers in air using Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) and The Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Testing (EMPAT) Fungal Direct Exam Progam.
The lab's personnel have more than 20 years of direct laboratory experience and plan to add several more in the near future.
ATLAS Scientific's laboratory has been NVLAP accredited since 2001 and has participated in the AIHA PAT Program since 1993. Inaddition to complying with currently accepted Standard Operating Procedures and good laboratory practices, the laboratory strictly adheres to all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
