Environmental Engineering
ATLAS has
a technically professional staff covering a broad spectrum of environmental
disciplines. Also, ATLAS has an approved Comprehensive Quality
Assurance Plan (ComQAP) in place with the FDEP.
ATLAS has
developed working relationships with several nationally recognized laboratories.
Each of these laboratories has been selected based on their particular
expertise within a specific analytical field. We are capable of sampling
and analyzing innumerable varieties of contaminants / chemicals / microbes,
etc.
ATLAS is experienced
and positioned to provide services of the following:
Hazardous
Waste Management
ATLAS’ professional
staff includes degreed chemists and environmental engineers who have specialized
training in hazardous chemicals handling and hazardous waste management.
All personnel have completed the EPA / OSHA 40-hour hazardous waste site
training. Services that are typically provided to our clients include:
- Hazardous materials site audits
- Waste practice evaluation
- Compliance auditing
- Waste / facility characterization
- Waste minimization program
- Product control / substitution
- Hazardous materials / waste handling procedures
- Program development and documentation
- Regulator interface / permitting
- Special customized training
Storm
Water / Water Quality Management
ATLAS provides
all of the scientific, engineering and support services to evaluate, design
and permit storm water retention / detention / management programs.
ATLAS has
also provided extensive water quality consulting services involving surface
water studies in lakes and streams as well as drinking water compliance
sampling. One of the drinking water compliance programs involved county-wide
sampling of all Duval County Public Schools for lead and/or copper for
regulatory compliance. This resulted in collection of more than 2,500 water
samples.
Water
/ Waste Water
ATLAS has
completed numerous projects involving drinking water distribution design
and waste water treatment system design. Many of these projects have been
completed for UPS Truck Leasing and Dollar Rent A Car. The projects have
involved evaluating regulatory compliance, site sampling, system design,
permitting, contractor selection and supervision and project coordination.
Ecological
Services
ATLAS has
conducted numerous diverse projects involving many types of ecological
studies. Some of these studies have included:
- Groundwater contamination
- Surface water contamination
- Soil contamination
- Soil type classification
- Wetlands delineation
- Botanical diversity studies
- Florida gopher tortoise population distribution
- Native reptile diversity studies
- Esturine fish population / diversity studies
- Macro invertebrates.
Permitting
Nearly all the projects that we execute involve
some type of regulatory permitting. ATLAShas
developed excellent working relationships with local POTW (industrial waste
water), various Florida water management districts, Florida Department
of Environmental Protection, USEPA, Florida Department of Transportation,
various local planning and zoning boards and other regulatory agencies.
